1. Tom Brady, New England Patriots

Last year Brady was the top fantasy QB who passed for 50 touchdowns, although I do not see him reaching that milestone again he will have another outstanding year with a happy Randy Moss receiving a new contract. He also has weapons like Wes Welker and Jabar Gaffney who came on late in the season last year.

2. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

Although the Cowboys let go Terry Glenn who was a solid #2 receiver, Romo still has Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton who is looking to become the new number two. Romo also benefits with a new two headed monster in the running game with Marion Barber and new addition Felix Jones.

3. Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts

Do not be turned off by the injury he currently has. He is Peyton Manning who has always been one of the top fantasy QB’s and has never missed a start in his NFL career. Manning is surrounded with top fantasy talent in WR’s Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Anthony Gonzalez, TE Dallas Clark, and RB Joseph Addai.

4. Carson Palmer, Cincinnati Bengals

Last year Palmer had a career year in passing yards but also INT’s. His touchdowns were on the low side but this year he is healthy and has his two great receivers in TJ Houshmandzedeh and Chad Johnson. I expect Palmer to have a great fantasy year.

5. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees has always been a good fantasy QB and I expect the same this year. He has Marquis Colston and an improving Robert Meachem which will help pick up the passing game. With the addition of Jeremy Shockey look out for Brees’ touchdowns to go up in the red zone.

6. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

Roethlisberger ended the season last year third in passing touchdowns. With a great running game every year and targets like Santonio Holmes, Hines Ward, and Heath Miller to throw too, the 2008 season should be another year of improvement.

7. Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle Seahawks

He is always a high performing fantasy QB, last year throwing for 3,966 yards and 28 touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how the Seahawks running game will fair with additions such as Julius Jones and TJ Duckett. If the running game is not a threat defenses will be playing the pass and could scheming to stop the pass which could hurt Hasselbeck. Be weary when picking up Hasselbeck.

8. Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles

Although McNabb is injury prone, he says that he is as healthy as he has been in a long time. Now that he is no longer a running QB that has allowed him to continue to improve on his passing game. He does not have any real threats in his wide receivers but besides the year with T.O. he never has had a top receiver so I would not worry about that. Look for Donovan to be available in the later rounds and to have a nice fantasy year.

9. Derek Anderson, Cleveland Browns

Last year Anderson had a break out season and surprised all fantasy owners. With the same cast around him and the addition of Donte Stallworth who will help spread out the field with his deep threat capabilities, Anderson should have another great year. Look for him to cut down on his INT’s this season since he is coming into this year with a full season of experience. He should be a starting QB in every fantasy league.

10. David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars

Garrard did not finish in the top ten in any category except for INT’s which he only threw three last season. Garrard is a solid fantasy QB who is consistent week in and week out. Look for Garrard to still be available in the later rounds and you are still looking for a QB. He will not wow you with his fantasy numbers but will be a consistent QB for your fantasy team.

11. Jon Kitna, Detroit Lions

Kitna threw for over 4,000 yards last year which was top 5 among Fantasy QB’s. However, he only had 18 TD’s and 20 interceptions which hurts fantasy owners who have high interception rates. I believe that one of the biggest problems he endured was the injury of his receivers last year and no running game. I believe that Kitna will put up comprable passing yards while increasing his TD’s this year. I think Kitna is an average starting QB and a great backup for Fantasy.

12. Jay Cutler, Denver Broncos

Last year Cutler was diagnosed with diabetes which was hampering his play. This year is a make or break year for Cutler. He knows how to deal with his condition and is healthy going into the season. With emerging WR Brandon Marshall and a good running game look for Cutler to have a solid year. I would draft Cutler as a backup fantasy QB right now and depending on his play he may be able to crack your lineup.

13. Brett Favre, New York Jets

Last year with the Packers, Favre had an outstanding year and was third in passing yard and sixth in passing touchdowns. This year he has entered the AFC East where he will have to face some tough defenses like the Patriots and Bills twice in the year. I would advise caution when drafting Brett. He is definitely a great backup QB to have but a risky starting fantasy QB.

14. Eli Manning, New York Giants

Eli is on the fence when deciding if he is a starting fantasy QB.  I do not think that he is because he was 12th in passing yards and and 11th in touchdown passes.  Unless your in a deep fantasy league I would advise taking Manning as a backup because there are other QB’s that will put up better numbers than Eli Manning will.

15. Jake Delhomme, Carolina Panthers

Delhomme is coming off Tommy John Surgery but says he feels healthy and ready to go.  He will have Steve Smith along with Muhsin Muhammad who came back from the Bears.  He will also have a running game with rookie Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams.  I think Delhomme will have an average year and is a solid backup QB to fill in for your starters bye week.
